WHO WE ARE
MMOB Forestry Management is a group of passionate engineers who are dedicated to preserving our National Forests. Forest health across the nation has been in rapid decline and we want to help. Through months of research MMOB has created the app"Tree Tracker," to test run in five major National Forests.

Forest health is important to our nation for numerous reasons. There are 193 million acres of the United States considered National Forests. Almost every single American has enjoyed a beautiful National Forest. Now imagine one of those forests without any of the trees. It would not even be close to the same. It is vital to protect these forests and it starts with better management of overall forest health. Of course recreation is an important use of National Forests, but a lot of these forests serve as the backyard of many communities, cities, and towns. Sick, dead, or unhealthy trees present an immense fire risk and it’s a essential to find a solution to this danger.

We believe that Tree Tracker will help preserve our National Forests as well as protecting the people that call these forests home.
THE APP
Tree Tracker.
The goal of Tree Tracker is to identify sick or dead trees that need immediate attention from the National Park Service. We are using barcode technology that we pin the location of the sick or dead tree. Instead of marking specific trees we are going to use bar codes placed on information signs near clusters of similar trees therefore the trees would be likely to have similar diseases. Once the barcode is scanned if the same code continues to be scanned it will come up as a hotspot that will be shown on the map.

Once the user scans the barcode the app will redirect the user to a list of symptoms commonly associated with that species of tree where the user can select what issues they saw in the tree. There will also be an option to upload a picture and leave a comment about the specific tree the user is concerned with, for the purpose of allowing users to describe a symptom if they feel the ones we have provided are unfit.
